Currently, Chalco has set up 1) a R&D system consisting of institutions dedicated to R&D, including national corporate technology centers, national engineering centers, Post-Doctoral research bases, and specialized research institutes, 2) a multi-layered innovation system made up of subordinate technology centers and industry-university collaboration bases, and 3) an innovation management system in charge of decision-making, management, R&D, and backup. Chalco boasts Zhengzhou Light Metals Institute, the only large-scale R&D center in China’s light metals industry. So far, it has been an accredited national corporate R&D center, and has set up the National Engineering Center of Aluminum Smelting, two national post-doctoral research bases, and ten laboratories and testing centers 𝔍endorsed by national and industrial authorities.
